After completing a standard stage with a high score, a comet will fly across the sky, and a button will be displayed. On the Cosmos Screen (which can be accessed by flying up into the sky from the hub screens), press the indicated button to see the comet fly across in the background.

Collect one million roses in the special stage to unlock an extra song as well as some new title screens.

On the mission Just the Right Size, you have to guess what size your katamari will be. Move your katamari and place something substantial between the katamari and the camera to force the see-through portal view to appear. This portal view gives you an approximate guide to the ideal size of your katamari for that stage.

In the bird and elephant stage, you will see the King wandering around. To roll him up, you must be approximately 3,100m. To roll up the Queen, you must have rolled up the King, and then, play the bird and elephant stage again and you can roll her up at about 2,700m. After that, you will see them in certain areas of different stages.
