To unlock an Area for Score Attack mode, clear it in the regular game mode.
Unlock New Areas

Unlock new areas by completing the following challenges:
Area 2: Clear Area 1
Area 3: Clear Area 2
Area 4: Clear Area 3
Area 5: Clear Areas 1-4 100%
Unlock New Player Skins

These are different skins/models for the player character.
Zero Form: Appears at the same time as Second Form
Second Form: Get 100% shoot down rate in one area, or accumulate five hours of playtime.
Third Form: Get 100% shoot down rate in two areas, or accumulate six hours of playtime.
Fourth Form: Get 100% shoot down rate in three areas, or accumulate seven hours of playtime.
Fifth Form: Get 100% shoot down rate in four areas, or accumulate eight hours of playtime.
Final Form: Get 100% shoot down rate in five areas, or accumulate nine hours of playtime.
Morolien: To play as one of the aliens from Space Channel 5, get 100% shoot down rate in all areas or accumulate 10 hours of playtime.
These can be found in Beyond Mode Options.
Unlock Immortality

To unlock immortality, clear Direct Assault -- Trance. This is a Beyond Option.
Unlock Lost Area
it works: 0% | it doesn't work: 100%
To unlock Lost Area, clear Area 5 in the regular game mode, or accumulate five hours of playtime.
Unlock Trancemission
it works: 0% | it doesn't work: 100%
To unlock Trancemission, get a #1 ranking in Lost Area.
Unlock Boss Rush
it works: 0% | it doesn't work: 100%
To unlock Boss Rush, get a 95% shoot down rate in areas 1-5 in the regular game mode.
Unlock New Beam Types
it works: 0% | it doesn't work: 100%
Unlock new visual expressions of your lock-on weapon.
Type 1: Clear any combination of areas 5 times in Score Attack.
Type 2: Clear any combination of areas 10 times in Score Attack.
Type 3: Clear any combination of areas 15 times in Score Attack.
Type 4: Clear any combination of areas 20 times in Score Attack.
Type 5: Clear any combination of areas 25 times in Score Attack.
Type 6: Clear any combination of areas 30 times in Score Attack.
Unlock Over Drive Infinity
