Note: Absolve the Treaty of Algernon by editting the following game file. Be sure to make a back-up of the file or you'll be sorry.

Locate the file bridge items in the directory Program files/activision/Sfc3/Assets/Common Settings/. Locate the text string "Romulan Cloaks" and Race = "R" and change it to Race = "FR". Save the file without changing the extension and you should be able to place a cloak on a Federation ship. Goal.

Note: Similar to the cloaking hack, this edits a critical game file. Make a back-up of the original file if you need to revert changes.

Locate the common settings folder in the game directory. Inside this folder are the files that determine the weapons and abilities for each faction in the game. F is for Federation, and adding that letter to the FIND RACE string will allow the Federation to incorporate a load of crap onto their starships. Saving the file as the original extension will allow you to boot a new game and utilise the new technology.
